RACEFEST 2026

Administrative check-in

An official check held before the race, where the organisers verify that the driver and their entry comply with these regulations. Every driver must complete check-in before racing. Attending the drivers' briefing is also mandatory — it covers the race procedures, explains the safety requirements and answers questions.

Practice requirements

• Ages 10–12 — must take part in at least one morning practice session.
• Ages 12–14 — taking part in practice is recommended.

Start and finish

• Starts are made with the engine running; both hands must be on the wheel at the moment of the start.
• After the chequered flag all drivers reduce speed and drive straight to the pit area.
• A driver counts as having finished if they cross the finish line seated in the kart.

Qualifying

2 × 5 minutes. The Race 1 grid is set by each driver's best qualifying lap.

Race 1 and Race 2

Race 1 starts according to the qualifying results, Race 2 according to the Race 1 finishing order. Points are awarded by finishing position — for example, with 15 entrants 1st place scores 15 points, 2nd place 14 points and so on.

Race 1 and Race 2 points are added together. If drivers are level on points, the better grid slot in the final goes to the driver with the faster lap in Race 2.

Finals

• The top six on points go straight through to the A final.
• All remaining drivers earn a place in the B final.
• Drivers finishing 1st–3rd in the B final (per the finishing protocol) move up to the A final.
• At least 9 drivers start the A final. The final number of A final places depends on the number of entrants in the division.
• The final RaceFest 2026 standings are decided solely by the A final finishing results.

Order of the finals by class: 1. Junior · 2. Ladies · 3. Standard (the number of heats depends on the number of entries).

General conditions

• All sessions are run on rental karts prepared by Lange Motokeskus.
• Drivers may use their own racing equipment.
• A helmet is mandatory — it must meet at least the E-mark requirements.
• Open footwear (flip-flops, sandals etc.) is not allowed on track.
• Drivers must wear proper safety equipment throughout every session.

General safety

All safety requirements set by the organiser are mandatory for drivers and spectators alike. Every driver must:

• drive only in the designated direction;
• stop safely if the kart develops a technical fault;
• raise a hand when leaving the track and make sure it is safe for others;
• stay seated in a stopped kart and signal to the marshal with a raised hand.

During the race, only marshals and the drivers taking part in that session are allowed on track.

Overtaking

Overtaking is allowed on both the inside and the outside, provided the move is safe and does not cause unwarranted contact with another driver. A driver starting an overtake must have a significant part of their kart at least alongside the opponent's kart before turn-in. If both karts are side by side entering a corner, both drivers must leave each other enough room.

Not allowed

• deliberate contact with another kart, or contact used to complete an overtake;
• pushing another driver off the track;
• using the braking point to ram a fellow competitor;
• dangerous blocking;
• repeatedly changing line on a straight (more than one defensive move);
• deliberately cutting the track limits;
• ignoring flag signals;
• driving in the wrong direction;
• creating an unwarranted dangerous situation.

The stewards judge every incident individually and may issue a penalty even when the contact did not cause a crash.

Pit area rules

The pit area is a safety zone — all drivers must follow the instructions of the organisers and marshals. The maximum speed in the pit area is walking pace; dangerous acceleration and obstructing other drivers are forbidden, and you may only get out of the kart in the designated place. After the finish all drivers head straight to the pits and do not stop on track.

Sporting conduct

RaceFest values fair and respectful racing. The organiser does not tolerate rude hand signals or offensive gestures on track, nor insulting, belittling or threatening the stewards, the organising team, Lange Motokeskus staff or fellow competitors, nor rude behaviour anywhere on the Lange Motokeskus premises. A first offence brings an official warning; a repeat offence means removal from the event.

Looking after the equipment

Deliberately causing collisions with the kart, deliberately damaging the kart, breaking or misusing the equipment and damaging gear are all forbidden. In case of deliberate damage the driver is removed from the event immediately and the organiser has the right to claim compensation.

Medical assistance

In case of an accident, follow the marshals' instructions immediately. If necessary the session is stopped and medical assistance is called. An injured driver must not be moved without the permission of the medical staff, except in case of immediate danger. The organiser has the right to stop a driver from continuing if their state of health does not allow it.

The organiser uses a ballast system to keep the racing as equal as possible. The ballast weights break or deform easily — throwing them around or mishandling them is forbidden.

Drivers may not

• tamper with the ballast;
• remove the ballast;
• reposition the ballast;
• use additional weights they brought themselves.

Breaching the ballast rules may lead to disqualification. Ballast weights must be placed in the kart's dedicated ballast holder (not in the race suit, the seat or anywhere else on the kart) and fitted before going out on track.

Penalties are issued by the chief steward and the race director. Decisions take into account the marshals' observations, official timing data, video footage, onboard camera recordings and, where needed, the explanations of those involved.

Possible penalties: verbal warning · official warning · time penalty · loss of grid positions · loss of result · disqualification from a session · removal from the whole event.

The stewards may issue a heavier penalty where the severity of the offence justifies it. For serious or repeated offences the stewards may apply a stricter penalty straight away. The stewards' decisions are final.

Protests

A protest must be submitted to the chief steward in writing on the official form (forms are available at the race office) within 15 minutes of the official results of that session being published. The stewards may review video footage, use onboard camera recordings and question those involved. The stewards' final decision is not open to appeal.

Onboard cameras

Onboard cameras are allowed at RaceFest 2026. The condition for using one is that the driver agrees to hand over all recorded material at the stewards' request in order to resolve a disputed incident. If a steward asks for the onboard footage, the driver must provide it. If the footage is not provided, the stewards may decide on the basis of the evidence available.

Kart technical faults

• If the problem is detected during the first lap after crossing the start line, the driver may return to the pits and receive a replacement kart (at the organisers' discretion). The lap time set with the replacement kart counts.
• If the problem is detected after the first lap, the driver may receive a replacement kart, but the qualifying result will be the lap time set with the faulty kart.
• If, through the fault of the organisers or the rental kart provider (e.g. an incorrectly fitted transponder), a best lap time cannot be determined, the driver is given the chance to take part in a repeat session of half the original duration.
• If a verified technical problem attributable to the organiser or the rental kart provider occurs after the start of the A final, the driver is classified as DNF. Any compensation is decided by the organiser on a case-by-case basis.
• Faking a serious technical problem leads to disqualification and the loss of the driver's result.

Wet weather

The event runs regardless of the weather. The organiser may shorten sessions, change the schedule, suspend the event or abandon it if the weather makes racing dangerous. All decisions of the organiser are final.

Driver liability

All drivers take part at their own risk. The organiser's liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. This provision does not exclude liability where damage is caused by the organiser's intentional act or gross negligence. The organiser is not liable for the loss of personal belongings or for damage caused by a driver to third parties. Each driver is responsible for their own conduct and for that of the people accompanying them in the event area throughout the event.

The event is open to people aged 10 and over. An underage driver must have an adult responsible person (the Registrant) present on race day, who is liable for offences committed by the drivers, mechanics and advisers associated with their name. A driver's age is counted by the current calendar year. The organiser, together with the karting centre's instructors, decides whether a young driver's height, physical readiness and driving skills allow them to race a kart safely.

Organiser liability and force majeure

The organiser is not liable for the event being cancelled or abandoned due to force majeure (extreme weather, power failure, fire, technical failure, government restrictions or other circumstances beyond the organiser's control). In such a case the organiser decides whether the event continues, is postponed or is abandoned.

Cancellation of the event

The organiser may cancel the event if fewer than 25 drivers have registered as of 06.09.2026. In that case all entry fees are refunded in full to everyone registered within 5 working days of the official decision being announced.

Personal data and photography

By registering for the event, a driver consents to their personal data being processed for the purpose of running the event. Photos and video are taken during the event. The organiser may use this material in RaceFest marketing, on social media, in the media (TV), on the website and in partner communications. Drivers are not entitled to any payment for this.

Prize giving

The top three in each race class are awarded. The top three receive trophies and prizes. Attending the prize giving is mandatory for every driver who finishes on the podium.

Sodi World Series (SWS)

RaceFest 2026 counts towards the SWS points standings in the Junior Cup and Sprint Cup categories. SWS points are awarded to Junior PRO, Standard PRO and Ladies PRO. The Ladies category has its own separate standings.

For points to be awarded, at least six SWS-registered drivers must take part in the category concerned. Drivers without an SWS profile are marked "Ghost" in the results and score no SWS points. A driver must create an SWS account and set an SWS-certified Estonian karting track as their home track. The home track can be changed once per calendar year until 31 March; in exceptional cases the organiser may allow a change at another time.
